ABOUT THE MUSICIANS

#QueerCountry Bandwagon plays queer songs by country artists and country songs by queer artists. We have been playing queer spaces in Chicago for more than two years. Last year, we toured to Louisville and Nashville, where we played the Queer Roots event at Americanafest. Our first two recorded singles will be released this year. We are thrilled to be back at Dorothy this year for our third Pride show.

Kelsey Montanez, Aly Jados, and Hannah Johnson are three Chicago songwriters joining forces in an all-femme project named Channels, rooted in a shared love of rock and roll. Kelsey has been a staple of the city’s music scene, playing shows, events, and queer spaces since the age of 17, while Aly has carved out her place in Chicago’s hard rock world with bands like Blood People and Violets. Hannah brings her indie rock sensibility from Yes Factory, along with several years of contributing backing vocals in Kelsey’s band. Together, they’re building something immediate and collaborative, driven by a shared commitment to the craft of songwriting.
