Slide & Tell is a night of slideshow presentations from the community on topics ranging from queer history to weird science to personal stories.
Audiences can expect to listen, learn, and probably laugh along the way. Presentations will each be under 7 minutes and will be followed by short audience Q&A sections. Join us for presentations by Effie McMillan, Sam Young, Tess, Alexis Louise & more!
Doors at 6pm with a one hour happy hour before our show starts at 7pm. Dorothy remains open after the show until 11pm.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $17 at the door.
Dorothy is 21+ and requires physical ID for all to enter. Dorothy is also ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbell Ave. If you are a guest who requires elevator access, please wait by the black door on Campbell Ave with our logo in the window and call our staff to assist: 773-770-3799

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Effie McMillan (she/they) - Host/Emcee/Presenter:Effie is a recent Chicago transplant from southeast Virginia who’s passionate about telling stories, building community, and fighting for a better world. You can find them biking, birding, or bouldering (in other words, she’s a trans dyke stereotype).
Sam Young (she/her) - Presenter:Sam is a queer, autistic, and disabled former theater kid. She loves dogs, reading, swimming, musical theater, board games, and info-dumping to her friends and family about her special interests.
Tess (she/her) - Presenter:Tess is a 29 year old trans woman who moved to Chicago from Florida in September of 2021. She’s very passionate about science, history, and education.
Alexis Louise (she/her) - Presenter:Ex theater kid, Annoyance Improv graduate, wannabe author.
