ABOUT THE TEAM
Cast/Producers/Writers:
Jessee Groove is a writer, singer-songwriter, musician, actress, and aspiring revolutionary. Through her work, she hopes to connect with those who feel overwhelmed by the moment but still try to show up. This show is a hug for the helpers and the hopefuls.
Farai Gotora is a writer and comedian currently living in Chicago, IL. She observes scenes in the world and then writes about them in funny and unexpected ways. Her writing and comedy range from ridiculous to insightful, which has seen her perform for a wide range of audiences.
Hobert Thompson is a comedian, producer, and gourmand. You can see his live D&D show, Thirst for Adventure, at the Lincoln Lodge.
Morgan Leigh is a stand-up comic, improviser, and sketch performer in Chicago. After dropping out of graduate school and failing as a news reporter, Morgan began her career in South Bend, IN, and Indianapolis. She was a finalist in the 2023 Indiana's Funniest competition and performed at festivals, including the Columbus Comedy Festival, Middle Ground, and the Laughayette Comedy Festival. She is a graduate of the Second City improv program. Her comedy is full of energy with a twist of self-deprecation and relatable storytelling.
Anna Whiters is a 29-year-old Chicago girl who recently wandered into the world of improv, so if she bombs on stage, she wants you to know she's committed to the bit. She's excited to be playing Dorinda and bringing her to life—hopefully with more laughs than awkward silences!
Featured Guests:
Chad the Bird was Chicago's laziest and only Avian journalist for 16 years until he got drunk and joined TikTok, went viral and now has to travel and get up early. You can catch him at The Paper Machete every Saturday at Green Mill, once a month at Lincoln Lodge for Class! and twice a month at Logan Arcade where he streams pinball tournaments.
HAKI is known for demonstrating good music across the US from performing in St. Louis, New York City, Portland Maine, and throughout Chicago and Illinois with his old band. Now, after taking somewhat of a hiatus from the music scene following the end of HAKI and The Demonstration, HAKI seeks to reintroduce himself through HAKIISM - the thoughts, art, intellect and love of HAKI. Featuring the same energizing, eclectic edutainment, but now with more flair, style, and greater authenticity, HAKI hopes to reinvigorate the struggle for love in a cold world through music's universal and revolutionary language. A forever student at heart and a future Doctor of Education, HAKI hopes to expand his art through his thinking and intellect. Music is not just HAKI's passion, it is also his pedagogy. It is his calling. HAKI invites us to embrace the ways of HAKIISM.
